Waiting times… also Online

I’m recently got in a waiting time problem playing World of Warcraft, regarding login queues on a playing server. WoW is structured on various servers and every server is istantiated separately from others.

Often  some servers become overpopulated and not all can access istantly on it, there’s a login queue limitating the maximum number of player connected at the same time.

But i’m not speaking of few seconds, that’s about 1-2 minute in the best cases. That’s a little frustrating and often we need to wait more.

So, it’s not a real problems, we can do something else in the meantime, but that’s an usual problem in various online games not only WoW. And some other games can have much more time to wait. Another problem is when, playing a game, you need to wait to do something, or can’t do something, due to the high number of people connected. Let’s think about the curse of Online playing : LAG!!!

Well these can be only a minimum part in a game, often we can solve it logging in at different hour in a day or playing other games, but what can do when this kind of problems happens in the real life? Do you had same problems in real (post office, bank, market)? A community linked on a game can be compared to a community in real life? What do you feel about exclusive online friendship and real life friendship?

Personally I prefer friendship staying on both sides, not only online… but not always is possible!

Let’s write your thinking about it.

  • Online Gaming and MMORPG

MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games) it’s a particular videogame played exclusively online where people creates their own character, personalize them and play with it.

There are other aspects about the game, but we can focus on this:
    Why people play MMORPGs?

Basically it’s a way to spend free time and have fun, or live another reality where you can do something not possible in the real life. You can be a powerfull mage that can cast spells, or a rogue, hiding trough wilderness and attack from shadows or a Cleric too, healing wounds and helping others to stay alive on combat. Yes, because in most cases in a MMORPG people fight inside the game, versus other player or versus computer controlled entity (animals, buildings and so).

There’s various type of MMORPG in internet : Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Life Simulator etc. All of these give to players many type of playing, depends on players decision, and various adventure to live inside the games.

But the most actractive things in this kind of “Virtual Reality” is you can meet other real people playing at the same time, through their avatar, of course. So remember when playing MMORPG : you have to interact not only with a computer but, principally, with other real persons.

I’m currently playing various MMORPG like World of Warcraft and i’m enjoing its fantastic world. Have you ever played this kind of games? Still playing it?
